windswept_prunus_?

And just for the record an update of the prunus.
Transformation ... Hmm ... she decided to go for a kind of windswept design ...
The leafpads are too much pom-pom-like still.
This will change in autumn ...
Winterpics will be more convincing (hope so) ...

update_field_maple

This is how it went on with the fieldmaple (Acer campestre).
He is obviously doing very well. The leafs have this deep green colour
upon almost redish stems. This is how healthyness looks on this particular species.

The leafless pictures in Winter will be more interesting.
Ramification has developed nicely. In Autumn a total rewiring will be done
with an overhaul of the carving-sections.
The tachiagari is real cool (imho) ...

And here the old-man-arnie is put'n next to the tree as a size ratio ...

taxus_baccata_repanda_update

An impression of what I really used of the nursery material in order to find "the smallest tree" ...

update_american_girl

The "American girl" is doing very fine. I am really looking foreward to do further designing in autumn. There are such a lot of new branches and twigs to come this growing period ...

And the "wilson-carving" is improving by weathering as well ...

update_chinese_juniper

This is how it started in the last millennium.
Very poor material indeed, but I didn't knew it better that days ...

The tree of 1996 when I bought it from a nursery.
This particular species of Juniperus (J. Chinensis media blaauwi) is growing very, very slow.
Therefore I am posting here the stages of huge time-leaps ...

The first picture is a "repotted" and slighly optimized virtual of current stage ...

The middle trunc died and now they were twins.

About seven years ago

About three years ago

The tree as of today, with a chage of viewing-side and angle.

update_linden_clump

And an update of the linden_clump.
Repotted this spring, so from now no major works untill late summer.
Just Clip and grow. There will be a carving session in autumn to make the
trunc-relicts more intrgrated in the overall-design.

curly_yew

Another Taxus-project. A Taxus baccata freshly taken out of the field.
In 2016 I "twisted" the thin trunc with wire.
I wanted to provoke a curled, uneven look of the trunc.
Now the yew is sheduled to establish within the traing-pot for abut two years.
A first, humble designing of the branches will we done in autumn this year.

Ehm ..., by the way, the third pictures shows a MC (Music Casette) as a scale.
(This was a nagnetic data storage device people used a very long time ago to record music on ...)
